All references cited in the text must be listed in the reference list. Likewise, all references listed in the reference list must be cited in the text. Editor reserves the right to delete the missing and incomplete references if deemed necessary, and the related text. Incomplete references include references without page numbers.

Figures and photos

Figures and photographs are to be labeled as figures (Fig.). If necessary, figures should be drawn on a separate sheet of paper and each figure identified lightly in pencil on the reverse. Cut and paste figures should be totally avoided unless they are original, meaning that they can be easily edited by using Microsoft Word. Captions to all figures should be typed double-spaced in lower-case below the figure. Illustrations should be numbered, according to their sequence in the text. References should be made in the text to each illustration. No border (box) is allowed for figures.

Photographs (of high quality black and white, glossy print type with good contrast) should be submitted in duplicate, complete with magnification (if any). Colored slides will not be considered for printing unless as black and white, so reconsider submitting them. On rare occasion, request for color publication will be entertained subject to prior payment from author. The color figures can be published for the online version of JAB but the printed version will be in black and white only except when the author pays the required cost.

Tables

Tables ought to be self-explanatory and have a caption that is brief but adequate. Arabic numerals should be used to sequentially number tables, which should then be referred to by number inside the text. Table legends, each on its own page, should come after the main content. Tables cannot be supplied as images; they must be submitted as editable text. Although footnotes can be used to clarify acronyms, they shouldn't contain in-depth explanations of the experiment.

Supplementary Material

It should include information that is both pertinent and supplementary to the data in the publication. Supplementary information is never changed after it is published and is always related to the article. These files can be sent in a variety of formats, but as they are published exactly as supplied, they should be publication-ready. Content that has already been published cannot be posted as extra content. Tables, graphs, spectra, movies, and more can be used to represent them. The document should include references to all supporting information, with titles (and, if preferred, legends) for each file provided under the "Supporting Information" header.

Reproduction Permission

It is the writers' responsibility to obtain permission from the copyright holders for any pictures, tables, or figures that have already been published elsewhere. The copyright owner is often the publisher of the book or journal where the figure or table was originally published. In this instance, a letter from the publisher or author(s) should be included to verify that consent has been granted to reproduce the photograph.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism screening is an established part of the editorial process. All submitted manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism using Turnitin software.

“Online First” Publication

Upon completion, manuscripts that are ready for publication are posted as "Online First" versions. Manuscripts are considered ready for publication once the authors have fixed any errors and finished the final proofreading. Authors must be aware that their work cannot be altered once it has been posted online.

Self-Citations

Citation manipulation is the practice of overciting an author's research (also known as self-citation by writers) in order to increase the quantity of citations for the author's work (COPE, 2019). In order to prevent citation manipulation, the Jurnal Al-Sirat advises writers to limit their use of self-citation. In any particular publication, Jurnal Al-Sirat strongly recommends utilizing no more than five (including jointly authored publications) or twenty percent (whichever is less) self-citations.

Length of Manuscript

Research and review articles submitted must be a minimum of 10 pages in length and contain at least 3500 words, excluding references and appendices.
