Abstract

The military organization during the time of the Prophet Muhammad was established as an effort to defend personal and community safety and further as an important element in disseminating Islamic teachings. The main objective of this article is to look at some important aspects involving military ethics and battle or campaign in the time of the Prophet Muhammad, especially the analysis involves a series of battle in the time of the Prophet, and it is an important form of teaching in shaping military ethics in battle, especially humanitarian nature, mutual respect, management of prisoners, property and lives as well as methods of ceasefire in an atmosphere of war. Content analysis method and literature review was used as the primary method in this study and the findings show that Islam has clear rules in terms of military ethics and also certain laws related to battle or war for the benefit of religion, ummah and Islamic teachings.
