BAITULMAL MANAGEMENT DURING THE TIME OF RASULULLAH SAW AND THE RULING OF KHULAFA AR-RASHIDIN

Abstract

This study discusses the management of Baitulmal in the Time of Rasulullah SAW and Khulafa ar-Rashidin. The change in the management of the Baitulmal at that time was seen to be different according to the current situation. It is translated into various measures taken based on current developments to strengthen the country's financial management. By strengthening the institution of Baitulmal, various problems that arise due to misunderstanding of the community and also the management cause the function of Baitulmal to be stagnant and not proactive in solving the problems of the ummah. Such things cause researchers to try to delve into how the actual practice of Baitulmal in the time of the Prophet and his companions. This coincides with the objective of this study which aims to identify the differences in the implementation of Baitulmal in the time of Rasulullah SAW. and the companions and the extent to which management impacted Muslims at the time. This qualitative study uses a historical study design. Data is obtained through written documents such as books, articles, journals and working papers. The data were compiled and analyzed descriptively. This study found that the management of Baitulmal went through several different phases of development due to the expansion of the territory of the Islamic country which also increased financial resources. It is also hoped that this study will be able to increase the understanding of the community and related institutions in improving the management of the existing Baitulmal.
