Abstract

The term "Islamic Education Laboratory (MPI)" is utilized in this study to denote a significant catalyst within educational institutions, particularly schools. In the state of Selangor, a limited number of schools prioritize the provision of Multi-Purpose Instructional (MPI) activities, while the majority of schools also serve as suraus, facilitating the observance of Zohor and Asar prayers by pupils on school premises. The full utilization of MPI in teaching and learning (P&P) activities, as well as other activities, particularly those related to the subject of Islamic Education, is highly recommended. The present study employs a qualitative research design utilizing a case study methodology, employing purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was done through interviews with two Islamic Education Teachers at Bandar Rinching National Secondary School as well as observation of procedures and activities in the MPI found in the school. The meticulous analysis and transcription of interview data were conducted using ATLAS Ti 23.1.2 software. The study's findings indicate that the utilization of Islamic Education laboratories in schools is highly beneficial due to the comprehensive and accessible facilities that support the Islamic Education planning and implementation process. This study employs the theoretical framework of Experience-Based Learning, which posits that this theory is more closely aligned with the efficacy of utilizing MPI.
