Abstract

The COVID19 pandemic threat was discovered to have altered the way humans live on a world basis. The traditional aspect had to be changed to accommodate a new culture. This situation has an implication on the process of teaching and learning (T&L) Hadith in Malaysian Public Universities, which is typically delivered traditionally in order to guarantee the authenticity and accuracy of knowledge transfer from teachers to students. However, the post-COVID19 landscape of knowledge delivery techniques has shifted from face-to-face methods to online learning methods. As a result, T&L Hadith today requires the use of information and communication technology (ICT), which is still considered new in the traditional field of study. Meanwhile, the ICT approach has been widely used in modern studies which has been shown to influence the involvement of an audience that is already interested in any use of technology. However, it was observed that the development of ICT in the delivery of hadith knowledge is still not fully accepted by some educators in the corpus of Islamic knowledge due to their concerns about ICT's ability to impart knowledge. Although online teaching technology has advanced rapidly, there are still numerous issues and constraints in its implementation. This qualitative study gathers literature data in order to explain related issues. As a result, the research findings clarify both traditional T&L and new approaches through the use of technology. The challenges and limitations of technologically teaching Hadith, as well as methods for overcoming both, are also discussed. The experience of teaching practical knowledge in other fields is used as a guide and recommendation in interactively teaching hadith knowledge online while preserving the traditional unique features of hadith study. Several suitable models are proposed to be used interactively in PdP Hadith.
